Murdered and Missing Indigenous Women

It has become a proven fact that an Indigenous woman or girl in Canada—whether residing on reserve or in an urban setting, regardless of age or socio-economic background, faces a minimum of three times higher risk of experiencing violence, and a minimum of six times higher risk of being murdered than other women or girls in Canada. This alarming disparity constitutes a grave national human rights crisis that requires urgent action.
